Minutieus filmdebuut uit Mexico
Beto is huisbewaarder van een herenhuis in Mexico-stad. Zijn schaarse contacten
beperken zich tot twee personen: de eigenares - een rijke, oude dame voor wie hij een diep respect voelt - en de prostituee Lupe. Als het huis wordt verkocht, dreigt Beto tegen zijn wil met de chaotische buitenwereld te worden geconfronteerd. Enrique Rivero
baseert zijn speelfilmdebuut op het levensverhaal van Nolberto Coria, die de hoofdrol voor zijn rekening neemt. Cameraman Arnau Valls Colomer filmt dicht op de huid en met aandacht voor betekenisvolle details: minutieus volgt hij Beto’s dagelijkse handelingen.

Beto is the caretaker of a town house in Mexico City. He only has limited contact with two people: the owner (a wealthy old lady for whom he has deep respect) and the
prostitute Lupe. When the house is sold, Beto is faced with having to confront the world outside against his will. Enrique Rivero based his debut film on the life story of Nolberto Coria, who plays the lead role in this film. Cameraman Arnau Valls Colomer uses
intimate camera work and gives attention to significant details as he documents Beto’s daily affairs in minute detail.
